
2022 Festival
The first annual Arts in Action Festival featured panels, workshops and performances from organizations embedded in arts advocacy across New York City.
Participating organizations included: ARTE (Art & Resistance Through Education), BATTLE,College and Community Fellowships, Dances for Solidarity, Drama Club, Echoes of Incarceration, Exodus Transitional Community, the National Council of Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls, Parole Prep Project, PEN America, RAPP (Release Aging People in Prison), Recess Art, Rehabilitation Through the Arts, Survivors Justice Project, Survived and Punished NY, Theater of the Oppressed NYC, Theater for Social Change Ensemble, Urban Justice, Urban Word, and the Vera Institute for Justice.

ACTIVATION LOUNGE
The ACTIVATION LOUNGE was a lobby space / sanctuary for participants to (1) deregulate through breathwork / community building / dancing (2) contribute their thoughts / manifestations of their most radical visions on what reimagining justice means and (3) activate through a community tabling - bringing together organizations committed to this work.
PUBLIC EVENING PERFORMANCE
At the end of the festival, a public and free performance was presented at the Manhattan School of Music’s Neidorff-Karpati Hall.
